Small Claims Limits
The monetary jurisdiction of the Small Claims Court is prescribed
by regulation under the Courts of Justice Act. As of April
1, 2001, the jurisdiction of the court increased from $6,000 to its
current level of $10,000. The Ontario government has announced that
the monetary limit of the Small Claims Court will be increased from
$10,000 to $25,000 in January 2010.
